I do alright at the start. Regardless of the government type I can get a decent empire built up. I can’t really figure out how to get colonies, more or less, autonomous, but I’d like to think I’m pretty ok at micro management.

However, I can’t get past the Great Kahn event no mater what. I get general luck has some sway on the outcome, and that sometimes you just gotta give up on a run. But I just can’t get past that point in the game no matter what I do. Is there a video guide someone can recommend me? I can’t quite tell which ones are good or not.

F.Y.I. I’ve been playing without add-ons waiting till I’m better before I deal with hive-minds and the like.
