With Overlordās release, the speculation cycle begins oncemore. What comes next? While we donāt know for certain, we are likely to get a smaller DLC later on this year if the trend continues. As for the next ābigā DLC, I have several theories.
1) Internal Politics
The big one, and arguably the most requested rework. The devs themselves have even touched on this in Q&A sessions, and while Overlord overhauled rebellions and vassals, the internal developments of your specific empire still lack substance. Iād be surprised if this wasnāt the next big expansion, but there are obviously a few other possibilities.
2) Primitives Story Pack
This was also touched on in a Q&A, and might even be the next āsmall DLCā. Primitives add little aside from some small events and minor interactions you can have. Making them more fleshed out would be fun to play with.
3) Fallen Empires/Precursors/Tech
This one is more āout thereā, but I think it would be beneficial for the game, especially the earlygame. While mods do make these more interesting, having the vanilla game handle the āolderā civilizations better would be very interesting. Imagine if precursor event chains went on for longer and became more of a long-term project rather than āsurvey/excavate these systems, go to this new one, hereās your relicā. Fallen Empires too could use more of an overhaul, as right now theyāre more akin to Civās City-States.
These are just a few theories/ideas I have, but obviously I donāt work for Paradox. What do you think weāre getting next?
