Hello, I am playing on console and have played a few matches already. However, I am not sure what the best setup for my ships is and which ones are most efficient. Here is what I do:
I: Ship class
I tend to opt for the biggest available ships, meaning once I unlock cruisers, I'll mostly stop building destroyers etc. However, I usually keep one or two fleets comprised of mostly destroyers reinforced with a few cruisers around to ward off pirates or keep up orbital bombardments while my actual war fleets do other things.
II: Weapons
I always end up using kinetic weapons and tend to stay away from the small slots in favor of large or at least medium slots. When available, I will do away with Gauss cannons in favor of kinetic batteries/artillery. Once I reach battleships I also make two more battleship types: One carrier and one "sniper" with an X-class weapon
III: Defenses
I always go with a 2:1 ratio concerning shields:armor
IV: Components
I always go for best available, my on board computers are mostly set artillery tactics to keep my ships longer out of the way of enemy short range weapons and keep my range advantage with my kinetic weapons. In the A-slot I opt for auxiliary fire control systems (Or whatever its called in English. The thing that improves hit probability). If thats not possible, I go for afterburners and only for reactor boosters if the ship wouldn't work otherwise.
This probably makes for a very inefficient fleet and I would like to know what I can do to improve my designs and my production strategy. Thanks in advance!
