So... my army managed by occupy an infested planet (Prethoryn Scourge)

So, I was in process of liberating a planet the scurge had invaded. I had already beaten most of their fleets, so while my fleet were busy sterrilizing another planet that had already been infested, my fleet landed on this not yet entierly infested world.

Then the planet changed to infested, and flipped ownership to the scurge. Suddenly, my army was seemingly gone. Shorty after, it changed status to "occupied".

Now I occupy an infested world. I quit for the day after that. Now I wonder: Can I still sterelize it? Did I get a hidden warscore boost against the Scurge?
