I love this game and I believe it truly can allow you to play with any sci-fi trope.. but not something akin to the zerg in starcraft. With the grand archive we got something close to it, but breeding and training space fauna should be its own separate thing and we shouldn't be puffing copium with the closest thing to it, I'm sorry if that sounds harsh I don't mean to spread hate or anything its just the only way I could word it.

I think me and a lot of other players want a real organic space faring hive mind, one where the hive literally evolved genetics that allow them to traverse the stars, it would allow the player to truly play as an organic hive mind that may not even be very intelligent and very much still animalistic even , but still a contender on the galactic stage, the devouring swarm civic for example is portrayed as a hive mind with animalistic behavior but still capable of creating starships and spaceports, for me personally, it is immersion breaking

I love this game, but I love hive minds in every media except this one, I do love that we have intelligent hive minds capable of creating starships, but I'd also love more, and I think a lot of people can agree with that sentiment you know?

I mean why not have your cake and eat it too? Instead of depending on the closest possible thing to organic ships, why not allow us to be organic hive minds that also integrate (technically other) space fauna into our hives
