Anyone else think this ought to be redesigned? For example, when your civ discovers there is no cure, providing an opportunity to change approach, scientists provide prompting under certain conditions (Eg, Fanatic Materialist, Xenophile, high level Researchers, or similar), or a special project for a solution to the plague. A highly advanced civ that cares about the fate of a sentient race would probably not just shrug and go 'Oh well, give them some chicken soup and aspirin, guess they're gonna be extinct soon'. At the very least, revealing yourself then quarantining and preserving the uninfected would be a brute-force solution the Class 3 civilisations in Stellaris could use.
