Steep servers not connecting (XBox)

I've recently bought Steep on disc, which would only load every now and again, so I downloaded the game from the Xbox store. When the game loads, it comes up with:
OFFLINE MODE
The Steep servers are not available, game can still be played in OFFLINE MODE
...
Error code (DE-005-03)
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
