Did some upgrading this year (got a 4k tv and 3080 Ti) and I'm trying to set everything up for 4k couch gaming as pain free as possible. I have a good wired connection available. I would like to play games in 4k with my wireless PS5 controller (and other old controllers)
Both Steam Link options that I have are lacking in areas. My old physical Steam Link box only goes up to 1080p, but I can use my PS5 controller (and PS3 controllers). The Samsung Steam Link app streams 4k, but the only wireless controller I have that works with it is the Steam Controller.
Would the best solution be buying a Chromecast with Google TV? I hear the Bluetooth isn't that great for controllers like the PS5. Would I have to buy an 8bitdo wireless adapter and plug it into my TV?
This part doesn't matter as much, but would I be able to start Steam Link app using the controller? I like that I'm able to do that with the Steam Link box. I'm guessing I won't really use the Android/Google TV aspect of the Chromecast much, as I like the apps installed on the Samsung TV fine. I'd rather just throw the remote in a drawer and forget about it. Would I be able to or would I have to bring it out every time I wanted to start Steam?
Thanks for reading. This was a lot longer than I thought it would be.
