Metal Gear Solid 2 (MGS Master Collection) - crashing to black screen on every close?

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm only getting this issue on my Steam Deck, not on PC (also Linux). It seems like it specifically doesn't play nice switching from the game back to the launcher on game exit, just hangs at a black screen when going back to main menu, but I can't Steam B to get out from there, only option seems to be to hard power off. It's caused the corruption of multiple save files at this point and I'm not sure what to do, other than not play on the deck, which is kind of a bummer.
