So I've been aware of the DeckHD project for some time, and with this getting pushed out for official support, I've been considering getting it for my own OG Deck.
What both me and a bud are wondering though, is if the drawbacks aren't too much since the 1200p native resolution of the screen is pretty high for the hardware. Let me explain my worries:
It is always jarring (in my personal experience) to run games under native res on a modern screen (doesn't apply to CRTs) as things will look a tad washed out/jaggy. I've heard that FSR can alleviate that and since most games on the Deck do get advantages from that always turning it on is pretty much a must anyway. But even without it, because it's only a 7-inch display, I'm wondering if that mitigates that situation as well?
Also does it affect battery life by much? I would assume so but also would like to know.
Sorry for getting ramble-y but I wanted to make my point in the best way possible to get the best replies possible, ofc.
Thanks so much in advance to all!
