So this may be easily answered, however I feel like I’m missing something.
Last night, I was playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on my SD and out of nowhere, it just started chugging horribly. It also popped up with the “low disk space” notification.
I have a 64gb Steam Deck and a 512gb SD card, and the only game I have installed is BG3, which is installed on the SD card. Up until this point, I have had no issues with performance.
I looked at my storage, and it is mainly in the “Other” section of the internal drive that is full. I looked up this issue and found information stating the common cause is the shaders and compdata folders going to the internal drive instead of the installation location.
I did some more research and found a lot of people recommending Cryoutilities 2.0 as an automated fix.
I installed it on my Steam Deck last night, ran the program, used the recommended settings, and ran the sync in the Storage tab. However, upon running the sync I received a huge error box that ran off both sides of the screen and I wasn’t really able to make out what the error was.
My question is: am I being an idiot and missing something very obvious, or has anyone else experienced this? At this time, I’m still stuck with a full internal drive and can’t play BG3 almost at all because it sits around 1-3 FPS. Any help is greatly appreciated!
