I've been having an infuriating issue with my steam deck where sometimes when I put it into sleep mode it will not actually turn off, but will instead enter a "gray screen of death".
The game I'm playing turns into a solid gray screen. The audio still plays and I think I can still control the game underneath the gray screen, even if I can't see anything. I can use the Steam and "..." buttons to open up the deck menu, which allows me to temporarily see the game during the in-between menu transitions, but the only way to actually get rid of the gray screen and get the screen to function again is to hard reset or shut down the steam deck. It is also worth noting that pressing the power button to put it in and out of sleep mode does nothing at this point, only holding it down to bring up the power menu does anything.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I've looked around and found some online complaints that are similar but not quite like mine, no fixes in sight.
And before you ask: Yes, my Deck is caught up on updates, I just checked.
