Steam Deck constantly messing up my microSD card

Have a 1TB San Disk Ultra A1 microSD.

I was downloading Modern Warfare Remastered and tried to boot up a game at the same time, but I was in an infinite loading screen. Decided to hard shut down my Steam Deck, and when I turned it back on my microSD was no longer recognized neither in Game Mode nor in Desktop Mode. Kept power cycling the Deck until eventually Game Mode had a microSD card icon on the top navigation bar -- which I'm assuming means I need to format my card. Why does this keep happening? This is now the second time my SD acts up like this, causing me to re-download almost 1 TB worth of games
