So, have been trying to get this darn new fangled Xbox elite 2 controller to play nice with steam in big picture using the steam link to stream my games to the living room tv through an Nvidia Shield TV. The steam link app recognizes the controller for what it is. an elite controller. Has the option to map the paddles and everything. I try to map the paddles and they won’t accept inputs. When I go into steam big picture in link mode the steam client recognizes the controller as an Xbox one controller. Any ideas on how to get this to play nicely? I’m at a loss.
[Update 9:45am Eastern Time]
I just reverted the firmware of the controller and now steam recognizes the controller as an elite controller when directly linked to the host machine using Bluetooth and lets me map my paddles. However when I re-pair the controller with the client machine (shield tv) the steam link app recognizes it is an elite controller yet won’t let me map the paddles. If I launch big picture with the steam link and go into controller settings however, it recognizes the controller as a regular Xbox one controller.
