CSGO not reading my controller?

I know I know that keyboard and mouse are way better. But the controller feels more comfortable to me, I am a console player and I will stay on console im just playing steam with some friends who don't play console. Anyway, steam reads my xbox one controller fine, but CSGO doesn't read it period, non of the triggers, joysticks, anything, any help? I put in the command Exec controller.360.cfg and it does nothing
Edit: I have a Mac if that makes a difference
