I'm not a big multiplayer player but I have dabbled in a few games.
It seems like there's 4 different types of multiplayer and I don't understand why they all have to be so different from the end user perspective in terms of connecting to it.
I don't understand why a game like borderlands would allow you to play your save with friends and continue off on your own whereas other games specifically tie your save to a host.
I also don't understand why pvp fighter games lag as opposed to games where you all connect to a server and play like path of exile.
I have a brief understanding of why they're different but not why they have to differ. It seems like you have to look into how the online works as well when you're making a purchase because i find it very hard to get into palworld knowing i have to wait for the other person i want to play with to be online to play together as opposed to the neat simplicity of borderlands 2.
