Stargate SG1: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Season 6) SPOILERS WITHIN
Post Body

Hello again, Im back with another edition of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly and this time we are looking at Season 6!

Stargate SG1: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Season 1)

Stargate SG1: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Season 2)

Stargate SG1: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Season 3)

Stargate SG1: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Season 4)

Stargate SG1: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Season 5)

Season 6 started a rather saddening trend in SG1 where we started to lose core members of the cast. While Corin Nemec plays his role as Jonas amicably, one cant feel an emptiness throughout the season due to Michael Shanks' absence. I felt the scenes just didnt have the same vibe with Jonas instead of Daniel. Things begin to pick up pace in several story arcs including Earth politics and the Ancients while there are also character building episodes dedicated to Jonas (although I found these to be lacking). Overall, I found Season 6 to be fairly average partly due to the absence of Michael Shanks.

SEASON 6

The Good - Prometheus - Episode 11 and Unnatural Selection - Episode 12 - One giant leap in the Stargate universe where we finally see Earth take up the fight to the Goa'uld threat. The first reveal of the Prometheus is a sight to behold and even moreso when compared to how technologically "infant" Earth was back in Season 1. The first half focuses on the rogue elements of the NID while the second stuns the audience with the frightening evolution of the replicators. The double header exentuates the traits that make SG1 a great series.

The Bad - Nightwalkers - Episode 5 - A filler episode that is quite boring. One of those smoke and mirrors type episodes where not much makes sense and the more you think about it, the more questions arise. There is not much to write about this one in general apart from the refreshing change in scenery/sets.

The Ugly - Paradise Lost - Episode 15 - Absolutely loved the premise of this episode but it was a bit of a let down particularly as the writers got me excited about finally seeing something about the mysterious Furlings. Classic Jack and Maybourne banter in which is eventually does end up shooting him. Still left many unanswered questions about the Furlings so it would have been great to see hear about their history and seen some more of their artifacts.

The Honorable Mentions - Episodes 4 (Frozen), 6 (Abyss), 17 (Disclosure) and 22 (Full Circle) - Lots of great episodes again in Season 6 where we see several story arcs expanded. Frozen is an epic pre-cursor to the Atlantis spin off series and the Ancients in general. Abyss and Full Circle are also fan favourites due to Daniel's cameo and eventual return. Disclosure is a great deviation from the classical clip show as its probably the last time we see Kinsey in full flight as his role starts to break down in subsequent episodes. Interestingly, Disclosure features none of the original cast except for General Hammond.

Hope you enjoyed and as always I would be very interested to hear the community's feedback and thoughts!
