Bad luck with NG+ (Possible Spoilers?)

So I went into NG and got a very vanilla universe. My character just went missing when delivering the artifact to the lodge and I show up. Well I went to NG and low and behold, same thing. Same, exact, thing. You would think I would get a new universe, but nope. Same encounter at the lodge. This happen to anyone else?
