Hi guys! Not to be hyperbolic, but as the title says - Starfield has legitimately improved my life exponentially since it’s release. Allow me to rant.
For context, I’ve had an extremely stressful last few months. My hours at work have been cut down, my friends have moved away, and I’ve been dealing with the stress of taking on a promotion in the National guard (and other things relating to it) In addition to that, my mom (who is the absolute greatest) was diagnosed and is currently being treated for Triple-Negative breast cancer, and I’ve been helping her get to appointments and other things. I’ve fallen behind on bills, and I’ve had to move in with my dad and my two younger siblings. They’re 7 and 5 respectively. I’ve never been able to connect much with my dad or the kids, until this game. My little brother hounds me every day after work to play, and my little sister loves to come in and watch us play. Even my dad, who isn’t a gamer (especially RPGs) has started having me teach him how to play and make a character. Now we have real family time to spend together, exploring this little universe Bethesda has created. And when we play, I forget about all the stress, and I’m always finding new things to show off. I’m even taking the Xbox to my moms to play with her and my other sister, since they don’t have a system (I do hope to change that!!) Anyways, big thanks to the devs and the community here. It’s a great game, and it makes me happy.
