Cabin fever

Used an extra controller I got my second guy to buy a cabin upgrade and then went off with the second guy and used my main guy to do my daily tasks. Now it has been a few weeks in game and no cabin upgrade and I can't go into her menu with that character to shop for an upgrade either. How do I fix this
