Does levelling up gear change the crystal gained?

Easy question, haven't seen a definitive answer though. Heard both yea and no so far.
All I'm getting from salvaging is one of the two crystals for days now for every type of gear. Been debating if I need to start maxing my blues to get different crystals , but I can't invest too much right now due to being poor because of time constraints on playing
