Is there a fix for the can't take off bug?

I've cleared the local missions and have access to multiple planets to fly to but now my ship can't take off. I sit in the cockpit and all I can do is get up. The main mission tells me to get in the seat. I'm on PC, curious if there was a known fix as this is game breaking for me.
