Avid fan of the first game, played through it 3 times and beat on the hardest difficulty. Saw this was on game pass so thought I’d play through it. So far I’ve escaped coruscant… and compared to escaping bracca in the first game it just kinda sucked. Everything interesting seems to be happening in cutscenes.

In the first game: venator starts to collapse and you play yourself sliding down it. In second game: cutscene showing the yacht under attack.

In the first game, running along an exploding collapsing train like it’s uncharted 2. In the second game: cutscene showing fighting and flying out of maintenance tunnel.

The best part was being able to actually play the cool stuff… really hoping it doesn’t continue like this.

Edit: A lot of people here trying to start some sort of aggressive debate. I’m not shitting on the game and I want to like it. I’m saying that the intro to this game is objectively worse than the intro to the first game and that makes me worry about my experience with the rest of the game.

It’s the first game in this console generation that had me yelling at my screen saying “Let me play! I want to do that bit!” And that’s pretty frustrating when the game wants to do everything interesting in a weird aspect ratio changing cutscene.
