Alternate Angle on Jedi Accusation as Baby Snatchers
Post Body

I'm wondering in all these discussions on the procurement activities of the Jedi Order, no one brings up a particular point...

which is what I believe is the potential dual purpose nature of the Jedi Order.

Of course they are the guardians of the Republic, ensuring peace and justice throughout the galaxy... but does no one consider that the temple on Coruscant is also an asylum for dangerous and insane individuals afflicted with force sensitivity?

The people who accuse them of baby snatching probably believe these children would have fantastic lives with their caring and attentive parents, but what happens the first time their parents take away their PlayStation because they're not doing their homework, and the kid inadvertantly uses the Force to rip their mom's arms out of their sockets in a fit of rage?

These kids are a potential danger to themselves, their families, their communities etc.and there doesn't appear to be a pamphlet or local resource that can teach them to control their "gift".

Getting angry, dealing with rage, physical conflict, the pain of loss, all strong emotions come with stakes wildly different from non-forxe sensitive individuals. At the temple they get a handle on their abilities and how to live safely. I don't see how leaving them in their parents care is the ideal choice given the risks.
