When Andor season 2 comes out, hopefully later this year or early next, I’m going to try to rewatch season 1 in chronological order with Rebels and then continue the chronological viewing into Andor season 2. I’m curious to see if viewing the two shows together will make the early days of the Rebellion feel more expansive and intricate.
My question is if anyone has any ideas of exactly when season 1 of Rebels and season 1 of Andor take place in relation to one-another, since they occur in the same year.
I’ve seen people posit that Rebels begins after episode 7 of Andor, and that the Imperial crackdown on Lothal is a direct result of PORD, which was introduced in Andor episode 7. If that were the case, how would you space out the remaining episodes of Andor through season 1 of Rebels? Or do you think that season 1 of Rebels takes place entirely after Andor season 1?
I know that I’ll be flying blind with Andor season 2, since we can’t know exactly when the episodes occur until after they’ve released. But we do know during which years each 3-episode arc will occur, which will help me anticipate where to place the later Rebels episodes. We also know that the final arc will lead directly into Rogue One, which means we can assume it occurs after Rebels ends. There’s also the subject of the Ghorman massacre, which I have a feeling will be telegraphed a a couple episodes before it happens, so I should be able to anticipate how to line that up with the event in Rebels.
