Hero showdown matchmaking

Why is it so slow? After the first match it takes forever to matchmake for the next, then it finally finds one but its waiting for players then people leave because its taking so long. I prefer this over HvV because I like a duel between two heroes without someone killing you from behind right when the duel is heating up like in HvV.
I really wish you could do 1 v 1 hero matches!
