I watch, but don't give a shit about, the Clone Wars (because it's the only new SW to watch, anymore). Why can't we get some damn post-RotJ stories? Adaptations of EU stories that have already been written, would be awesome.
It pisses me off when Lucas talks about having over 50 live action scripts completed but not being able to do them because they would be so CGI-Expensive. It infuriates me that he can't use models and puppets like he used to, to return to the style and feel of the originals.
It pisses me off that there's already so much material written that could be adapted for new audiences, and existing fans.
I suppose the most likely response is that people could just read the novels, or comics, but some of us are slow readers, and it's time consuming. I LOVE to see things in color, and motion, and to hear different voices.
Really, I don't get why they haven't even tried. Make a damned animated adaptation of the Thrawn Trilogy. See if it does well, and go from there. It seems like a no brainer to me. It's already a hugely popular work in the EU, and it has great new characters, along with the RotJ crew. It would be animated, so stylized toys could be made, etc etc.
