I am sure I am not the first to have this theory, but after watching Chapter 3 I realized some things
The release schedule for The Mandalorian seems like it could tie in to Rise of Skywalker since they changed the release of the chapter off of the usual Friday release in order to get it out before first screenings.
Yoda was said to have trained Jedi for 800 years. This puts his achievement of Master rank at about 100 since he died at 900.
Young Yoda from the Mandalorian (not sure what else to call him) is said to be 50.
If you figure the standard 20 years to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight and an additional 5-10 for Master, Yoda probably started his Jedi training at about 70.
By the time that Rise of Skywalker takes place, Young Yoda would be about 70!
Putting all of these pieces together, what if Rey defeats the threat (whether it be Palpatine or not), and then after this victory begins to rebuild the Jedi Order. Low and behold, guess who is just at the right age to be the first youngling taken on by Rey to be trained as a Jedi! So the Skywalker Trilogy ends with a Rey beginning with a clean slate and training everyone's new favorite character, Young Yoda.
This would be a smart move for a lot of reasons. 1) Young Yoda is definitely loved by fans. 2) Young Yoda merch would sell, so $$$ for Disney. 3) The Star Wars movies could continue with Young Yoda.
Is there something I am missing that makes this completely impossible? Like I said, I am sure I am not the first to think of this, but I wanted to know what you guys thought! I think it would be a pretty good way to end everything off!
