Given just what we saw of Anakin Skywalker in the PT and Vader in the OT, what would this have made you feel if the PT was the OT in the early 2000s and George made the now ST in the later early 2000s (so, Episodes 1-6 in order):
Anakin watches as The Emperor tortures Luke (unfortunately followed by the Nooooo... 😮💨), the music begins to swell...
A swoosh and hum replaces the electric crackle. Luke is in shock, but he seems to be starring at Anakin's boots just out of camera shot when the camera switches back to Anakin now holding his old blue lightsaber. Anakin extinguishes the blade, walks toward Luke, and offers a hand to help Luke up. Luke reaches out for a hand that is no longer there- too late realizing the other hand has him by the neck. In Vader's mind he hears his old voice saying, "I slaughtered them like animals- the women [he remembers Padme clutching at her throat] and the children! [Luke's eyes roll back and close]" Vader exits the room. The next shot has Vader on a new Star Destroyer, folding his arms (his gloved right hand returned) while sitting in a chair identical to that of The Emperor on the Death Star.
