Today was an amusing day...
Showed up on time, spent the first 10 minutes of my shift getting lectured for having the t-shirt un-tucked and white socks (both fair points, I suppose.) and went about breaking down load. It was a fairly busy day, as our 2-Close ET called out, leaving two of us in the department.
During my lunch break I finally took the plunge and wrote out my two weeks notice and put it on the GM's door. As of 2/7/14 I'll be gone from the store and focusing full time on my studies. It's a good feeling, at least it will be once I'm totally done, I hope. For all the stress and anxiety I got from letting the job get to me, it really is just a low-tier job I suppose.
Oh. and the best part. Sold a phone right after the GM read my two weeks. That softened the blow a bit, particularly when he said my reasons for quitting (falling behind in college and having some mental health problems) were my own fault -.-
Anyway, it's been an odd 8 months, but I'm excited to be getting out, finally. Thanks for being a fun place to come rant to, r/staples.
