Stepping down (help)

I have been considering stepping down from tech associate down to cashier/office supplies. I have been a tech for almost a year now and still don’t even know how to take an intake. I took the position with the condition I’d work weekends but I haven’t been trained or anything. I’d rather just not have the added responsibility and go back to not working weekends again. Is there a good way to bring it up or request it?
