Last night I showed my wife Eyes Wide Shut as she had never seen a lot of cult classic movies. I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but I did a search of the sub and found nothing.
During the scene when Dr. Hartford (Cruise) ducks into the cafe with a newspaper and orders a cappuccino, while heβs reading the article about the dead girl you can see in the article that it references a small back story about her and her career. It mentions that she was once hired by a fashion designer named Leon Vitali, the actor who plays the man in the Red Cloak in the house. Thought this was a nice nod from Kubrick toward Vitali.
