Hi guys,
I’ve been in the nyc scene for about 2 years now. Still not really getting booked or making any friends in the scene. I’ve had plenty of good sets where comics have complimented me afterwards, but it seems like I’m easily forgettable. I feel like whenever I go to mics I try to start conversations with other comics but they always very short with me keeping the conversation brief. There are a couple of comics here and there that are friendly but none of them ever seem that interested in talking seem like they’re in a rush. I also try to go to as many shows as I can to support other comics, but I always feel out of place, being the only comic in the audience not on the show. My question is how do you start making more friends in comedy? Also, are there any other avenues to make comedy friends beside open mics?
