Stainless steel pots showing spots and discoloration after 1st use

Hi, i just bought w new set of stainless steel pots and after first use they look like on the pic. Is that normal? I've heard that discoloration is common normal to stainless steel cookware but just wanna make sure. I keep them on the medium temperature when I was cooking and basically just cook pasta and vegetables (and yea I added salt after water was boiling not before). Also have brown stains on the bottom, I didn't overheat and anything like that so that's why I'm a bit worried about it.
