Stadia failed because you had to buy your own games again on their platform. That's why most people didn't use it.

Some of these posts speculating why stadia wasn't as popular as they hoped to be are overthinking things. I remember when I first heard about stadia I was really excited. Yeah I heard some concerns about lag but I didn't care. The turn off for me was when I looked more into it and realized that I couldn't play half of my xbox one games on it and the other half I would have to pay for again on their platform. I noped out of that and just kept playing on my xbox. That is why they didn't became as popular as google would have liked, their business model wasn't attractive to most consumers. Hardcore gamers were picky about any slight lag that comes from cloud streaming and casual gamers didn't want to fork up $60 for a game they could only play using Stadia as long as their internet was fast. If they had a model similar to either geforce now or games pass they would have been much more successful with their technology.
