Hello everyone,
I've started trying out the Mr. Happy stack a few months ago and had some serious side effects, which brought me to this reddit.
At the beginning of May I have started stacking Alpha-GPC (NOW) 300 mg every morning before having a meal. One week later I have discovered the Mr. Happy stack and I have added 600 mg of Uridine Monophosphate (Ecological Formulas) every morning. The stack guidelines stipulate to start with a lesser dosage of Uridine, then add Alpha-GPC after a few weeks and then up the Uridine dosis. I have skipped all these steps in-between. Because I was feeling really good from this stack, I decided to add Bacopa Extract (320 mg) after a few weeks.
At the end of June I noticed that my vision was distorted. I couldn't focus properly anymore and I had like a mild head-ache all the time. Therefore, I went to an optometrist, but he said that my vision did not worsen considering his measurements. Still, I had problems "synchronizing" my eyes.
With the beginning of July I started feeling tired and I was yawning all the time. I did not understand this, because I was sleeping more than usual (around 9 hours / night). At this point I was still taking the aforementioned Uridine - Alpha-GPC - Bacopa stack. Occasionally I was adding Armodafinil and Huperzine-A.
Mid-July I started feeling my head all the time, especially my forehead. I had no motivation to do anything at all besides going to work and I was feeling like crap. At this point I started researching some more and I found some information that Uridine depletes the vitamin B levels in the body. As a result I completely stopped the Uridine - Alpha-GPC - Bacopa stack and started taking a vitamin B complex (B-Right from Jarrows). I have of course (silly me) started to take multiple tablets / day, because I wanted to get better fast. Things really went south afterwards. I had bulging eyes and light tremors. I was very tired and couldn't close my eyes at all. It was hell.
End of July I had decided to go to a doctor, but it was during the weekend, so I thought that I could try some selft-treatment. I found out, that people who had a Choline overdose were having similar symptoms to mine. Then I have noticed that the vitamin B complex was having 50 mg of Choline in it and I was taking 3-4 pills / day (additionally 1000 mcg Folate and around 2000 mcg of vitamin B12). I did not know that Choline builds up in your body.
This is how I treated myself after some more research: I stopped taking anything and started drinking 5-6 liters of water / day. I took activated charcoal with water (due to a possible vitamin B overdose) and because I have read that racetams deplete Choline, I added 300 mg of Phenylpiracetam as a single dose. After I did this on Sunday, things dramatically turned around and I started feeling almost instantly much better. Since then, I stopped taking any supplements and am drinking lots of water. So far, I am feeling almost normal again.
In retrospect, I am interested in your opinion on what might've gone wrong. Did I overdo the Choline? Was it something else? I was feeling so sick, the flu is nothing compared to this.
Did the Phenypiracetam save me or was it the activated charcoal? I have no idea.
Is it possible to see side-effects from a stack after 4-5 weeks and not straight from the beginning?
