IMG2IMG Problems

I've been struggling with IMG2IMG with Automatic1111. If I add a script to save ever iteration, the results are as expected; wonderful. But the final "save" gets flattened and I can figure out why? I hate having to save every iteration just to pick out the last good frame. Why are my final images getting flattened - it's like it's bit depth is too low on the final save. Any ideas?
