Long ago, /r/stlouis had a pretty active IRC channel on freenode. Many of the oldheads around here likely remember it (sighs at the memory of the days when we used to auto-admin... those were the days). It was good times and lead to a lot of IRL connections.

Over the years the IRC slowed down and eventually we created a Discord channel but as far as I know we have never actually posted it here, we only put a topic MOTD/topic link in the old IRC. Discord is not too shabby. As a grizzled oldhead myself, when my IRC channels started to make the move to discord I hated it at first, but after warming up to the new app and channels have found it's pretty solid.
