Hi, just as the title states, my wife and I are young, "college degreed," service workers where we make just more than enough to pay our $1450 rent utilities, support our dogs, enjoy a modest night life/activities, and pay for our own groceries, and necessities, and college loan debt.
I don't relate to, "young professionals" and tech nomads who can move to your city, and only worry about being close to downtown, needing high speed internet or worrying about "urban" fears. I suppose i'm looking to find the perspective of the people in Saint Louis who live similarly to us, and how realistic it would be to move to an area like, Mapplewood, and find bartending/baristaing/cooking/baking/etc. jobs that would allow us to afford rent, bills and necessities, and maybe later worry about our "fun times" budget.
We plan to visit for a week or so around February, so any suggestions on where to go and what to see would be greatly appreciated too, even if you don't think it'd be realistic for us to move there. It seems like a lovely place, and we'd only want to embrace what makes your city wonderful. Thanks :)
