This is going to get downvoted but I feel it needs to be said. Crazy how many people are missing the point on the protest at the parade. Pride was founded on protests, freedom of speech, resistance of violence and discrimination. Boeing was a major sponsor this year. In case you didn't know, Boeing has a long history of shutting people up who speak out against them on top of them literally building bombs in St. Louis that are currently killing innocent people. If you're pissed you missed your little parade then you are completely missing the point of Pride. Your real anger should be with the organizers who blindly accepted blood money and thought no one would care because they have a rainbow flag on a paper airplane. PrideSTL should seriously be ashamed of themselves on how the events went this weekend, they turned a genuine celebration of people into a soulless cash grab.
Pride literally started BECAUSE of the police, the police not being present at Pride is actually fine
Yes, dangerous things could happen, but the police and their presence don't actually deter crime to that extent.
Liberal cops, LGBT cops, doesn't matter if they serve a system that doesn't protect the most vulnerable people... where were these leftist cops when a gay bar owner was harassed? Why didn't they speak up and condemn the cop who crashed into that bar?

The money for pride doesn't come from the weapons budget, it comes from the PR budget. What does a weapons manufacturer have to do with ensuring making the world a safer place?
