I’m a retired senior interested in learning and playing Dungeons and Dragons. Is there any venue you can suggest which would welcome an inexperienced senior? Would I be out of place at game nights due to age?

ADDENDUM: Thank you to all who have replied. You have given me some great suggestions! I am totally inexperienced in modern tabletop gaming and chose to ask about D & D because I was under the impression it was the most popular. A gamer whose opinion I respect, who plays D & D, suggested this to me. What are the most popular games at this time?
