At various times in my life I’ve enjoyed Huy Fong Sriracha. Maybe even loved it at some point. But I never really cared that much, until I could no longer find it.
Today for the first time in multiple years, I saw Huy Fong sriracha for sale at my local grocery store. I immediately purchased it.
I had heard about Underwood Ranch’s version of sriracha through this subreddit so I bought the expensive ass 2 pack on Amazon.
What everyone is saying is absolutely true. The new Huy Fong sriracha is straight up flat. Like it is missing something. Very little kick and missing the complexity of heat/garlic/sweet that we all knew and loved.
Underwood Ranch’s version had the complexity and depth of flavor that is missing in the new green cap bottles. While not exactly the same as the OG Huy Fong sriracha, it is immeasurably better.
If Huy Fong changed their pepper supplier due to greed, this is what they get. I suggest no one buy the new Huy Fong sriracha. It straight up sucks.
Thank you for your time.
