Why was "Tossing Someone Over The Top Rope" a DQ in early WCW?
Post Body

Growing up, I never watched WCW. I was strictly a WWF Superstars/Challenge guy. It really hasn't been until watching YouTube and more specifically, Wrestling with Wregret's Classic PPV Reviews that I've seen more of older WCW. One thing that's always confused me about old WCW was that it would be a DQ if you tossed someone over the top rope in a Singles match.

Why is that? Was that, in kayfabe, considered too dangerous of a spot? And did something happen throughout time that fazed away the DQ, or did WCW just stop caring about that rule in its later years?
