Help a n00b choose a wrestling promotion to check out, and maybe follow.
Post Body

So, I'm a huge grand strategy games fan, and I hang out and/or lurk /r/ParadoxPlaza/ on a regular basis. I'm also a huge history nerd, and I especially love alternate history scenarios. Enter /r/FantasyBookers/, the place that made me aware of the existence of the Total Extreme Wrestling games.

The character focus of those games reminded me a lot of Crusader Kings, with backyard federations and wrestling promotions replacing struggling counties and sprawling empires and, knowing at least something about wrestling, I especially liked those players who made it their goal to right what once went wrong and do things like not screw Bret Hart over, or keep Chris Benoit from taking one chair shot to the head too many and do what he did.

So, in the name of curiosity and research, I wanted to check some wrestling out but, so far, I haven't come across something that suits my taste yet - I liked the new NWA's cozy studio atmosphere, but the deliberate retro vibe was maybe too retro for me and, while looking for something that featured intergender matches on a semi-regular basis, I looked CHIKARA up, but they might be too over the top even for my degenerate weeaboo standards.

So... cozy studio atmosphere, but modern, and intergender matches, but not booked by someone high on the dankest weed, or at least not all the time? There probably isn't something like this at all but hey, you can try and sell me your favourite promotion even if it doesn't check those boxes, help a n00b out. :P
