As silly as the reason may sound, apparently that's that.

Apollo Crews had his name changed on 2/19 to just Apollo. The word going around is it was because of Nikolas Cruz, who was the gunman in the shootings at Marjo Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL last week. The timing would seem to have that make sense, but WWE didn’t confirm that. The only thing they said was that they never released that as being the reason. It did end the entire “Crews can’t lose” catch phrase they started only one week earlier, although they did that one no favors by having him lose the week the catch phrase debuted.
