Damien Sandow, Heath Slater, Adam Rose, Cody Rhodes...Eva Marie. The difference between owning your gimmick and not believing in it. After seeing the youtube video of Eva Marie doing catchphrases poorly, it struck me that this is an excellent example of wrestlers being given something and told to get it over. Damien, Heath, Rose, Cody all fully believe in their gimmicks. It's clear that Eva doesn't buy in.
So what about other gimmicks that wrestlers got over despite not being the best ever?
And what do you think about the idea that a wrestler has to make the gimmick work and not the other way around?
