Paul Heyman tells a terrifying story of Vince McMahonâs behavior towards his own son Shane McMahon
During the Mr. McMahon documentary on Netflix, Heyman stated that the situation occurred after a disagreement over a creative idea in WWE
âVince turned to Shane and he said, âNot while Iâm aliveâ. Then all of a sudden Vince, who was eating something, took his utensil and handed it to Shane, and he says, âright thereâ points to his chest If you want this so bad, do something because thatâs what youâll have to do to make that decision. And if you donât, then I know youâre not man enough to do it, and I have to take that into consideration as well.
If not you can buy me out, the way I bought out my father, and if I donât get out of your way, get rid of me, the way I would have have done to my father when he wasnât doing things my way at all.â

It wasn't necessarily a sweetheart deal. Vince Sr. was in declining health and wanted to offload the company, but there few if any legitimate offers beyond VKM's that Vince Sr. and the other owners would entertain.
VKM's deal was basically to use the Cape Cod Coliseum as collateral to secure loans, and then use those loans to expand the business. The sweetheart part of the deal is that VKM knew he'd be able to make it happen because WWF's business was hot.
