Seeing Nattie on Raw last night got me thinking. Nattie's been around a while, and a filler feud with her was basically a rite of passage for any promising woman for a decent chunk of time. So I decided to look at all the WWE women's champions' careers and see how far back I'd have to go to find one that doesn't overlap with Natalya. Here's what I found, and note that "televised" in this case includes PPVs:
The most recent women's single's champion in WWE to not have a televised 1-on-1 match with Natalya in her career is Jillian, who had a 2-minute reign on 10/12/09. Since that's a joke reign, the next champion this applies to is Candice Michelle, who was last champion on 10/7/07.
Follow-up: There are 29 unique non-Jillian women to hold a singles title since Candice. While all 29 have at least one televised singles match against Natalya, only 27 have a televised singles win against her. The two that don't? Melina, whom Nattie has beaten on Raw twice, and Bayley, who has just one singles loss to Nattie on a Thunderdome-era Smackdown. (You might also count Maryse, who defeated Nattie on the streamed Superstars but not on TV/PPV).
The most recent champion to have never appeared in a televised match with Natalya (including as a teammate or in a multi-woman) is Jazz, who lost the belt to Gail Kim on 6/30/03. On this list, Molly Holly is covered by Rumbles only, and 6 more are covered by tag or multi-woman matches only. Turns out WWE ran way more 10- to 18-woman tag matches than you would think made sense!
The furthest women's singles champion in WWE to share a ring with Nattie in a televised match is Ivory, who won her first title on 6/8/99 and lost her last on 4/1/01. They both appeared in the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble, and Nattie was present for Ivory's 25-second run.
Bonus stat: of those 29 champions, 21 of them have lost to Nattie in a televised singles match. The 8 she's never beaten are Beth Phoenix, Eve Torres, Asuka, Bianca Belair, Ronda Rousey, Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, and Nia Jax. You can add Kaitlyn, Sasha Banks, and Nikki Cross if you don't want to count streamed-only wins for Nattie (NXT x2 and Main Event).
Just thought I'd share the results of a little rabbit hole I went down in appreciation of Natalya's longevity!
