I used to be an avid fan as a youngster during the attitude era, WCW and WWE wars was something my friends and I used to follow and discuss rabidly, I was a smark even back then, following news on my dial-up modem connection to barely there webpages and newsletters.
Time passed, I grew apart from friends, grew a part from wrestling, had a kid, got a job, started following MMA with much the same passion. On the odd occasion I was channel surfing and saw wrestling, it did nothing at all for me.
I was always a gamer though, and bought an Xbox this year this game came out.
I played the demo with the Ultimate Warrior and my face lit up like a solar flare. I was feeling things I never felt for nearly a decade, i remembered the joy at a well executed move, the "I know it's scripted, but god-damn it's entertaining" glee that would happen every Monday night.
Watching and playing the over muscled, comic book/hong king cinema style action just brought it all flooding back.
It was during that same period I found out the Macho Man died. I went to Blockbuster, rented it and played it as him for hours and hours, reliving in my head all those promos and awesome times I had experienced as a kid.
