So I recently finished the Re-Ignited series, and I really enjoyed it. In fact, I was thinking Toys for Bob should consider continuing the series and making more game. I played Enter the Dragon fly and Heroes Tail years ago, and although the latter was kinda fun Enter the Dragonfly was.....not, and neither were as good as the first three. I think Toys for Bob could make a worthy successor game to the first trilogy.
I remember seeing some fan art of a grown Spyro, with him joining the balloonists, and I thought it might make a good game. In the spirit of navel gazing I thought it'd be fun to discuss it.
It would be fun to have an adult spyro and old sparx, with the power dynamic of who represents health swapped. Sparx is old, but still journeys with Spyro. Although he can fly he prefers not to, riding on Spyros shoulder like a trained bird. Instead of sparx being his health meter, Spyro's wings are. At full health he can fly (he is grown now after all), allowing for new and different puzzles. After taking one hit he can fly with limited mobility, with two hits he can glide like in the first games, after three hits, not even that, with his wings getting more and more tattered with each blow (hit animations would have him patting out fire on his wings, or folding them around Sparx when hit with an arrow, etc.). Fodder would allow Sparx to repair Spyro's wings.
I would have characters from the first three games be playable side characters, like Sheila and Hunter in the third game.
Bianca could be a fun character, as an apprentice magician her powers and gameplay revolve around transmogrifying creatures to solve puzzle, access new areas, etc. So dangerous enemies could be turned into rabbits, rabbits into mini-buzzes etc.
Money-bags would be an interesting character, his levels would be solely puzzle based. Whenever you access a new portal/world, you would play a "tutorial" mission with Money Bags, in which which he would use gems (from the last time Spyro paid him) to bribe enemies, lure them into traps while figuring out how to get certain contraptions to work, which he would then charge Spyro for the use of.
Hunter would still be found in speed ways and flights.
The plot would involve the dragons looking for new lands they could expand into, as their population as slowly been growing. Spyro, now grown, would have been trained with the six dragon worlds, with much of the back tracking between worlds being him applying different abilities from each dragon kingdom. I.E. the peacemakers would be the first through, defeating enemies like Riptocs with Spyro leading. Then the artisans would be brought in to create buildings, access new areas with towers and stairs etc.
Thoughts.
